We will be having a short, 1 hour program and ribbon cutting ceremony. We are expecting a good crowd, and because of this, attendees may be parking throughout the neighborhood. We apologize if this causes any inconvenience.
CUP is Tampa’s first inclusive coffee shop, hiring people with and without disabilities to work together.

TAMPA, Fla. — An innovative new coffee shop opening in Tampa this Feb. will train and employ people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Called CUP (Coffee Uniting People), the nonprofit is the first of its inclusionary kind in the Tampa Bay area. It will be located at 3408 South Dale Mabry Highway. CUP is the brainchild of attorney Greg Jones, who is teaming up with manager Stephanie Williams to give more employment options to people who need them.

Coffee Uniting People, the non-profit behind CUP, says an inclusive coffee shop that employs those with intellectual and developmental disabilities is “long overdue.”
The Tampa-based non-profit Coffee Uniting People, aka CUP, recently signed a lease for its first coffee shop located at 3408 S Dale Mabry Hwy, with the hopes of opening in late fall or shortly after the new year, says founder Greg Jones.
“We’re very excited about this opportunity to provide employment opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities,” Jones tells What Now Tampa. “It’s long overdue in the Tampa area and the state, and hopefully this will be the first of many locations that will positively affect the lives of many.” Read Full Article
